Facilitating the proven method of compaction, the PAULOS cannulated tunnel expanders have additional features beyond the original sizers and dilators. The cannulation allows the tunnel expanders to be placed over the K-wire. This helps the surgeon avoid migration of the expander. The 1cm markings allow the surgeon to determine the depth of the tunnel, even endoscopically. A rasp at the distal tip chamfers the tunnel edges, helping to prevent graft abrasion.
